In April 2017, Robert Shibuya became Chairman and CEO, of Mohr Partners, Inc. (MPI) after leading the management buyout of the firm from its founder, Bob Mohr. As the principal shareholder, Mr. Shibuya is critically focused on the expansion of MPI’s coverage in strategic markets, adding and strengthening key service lines including business intelligence & project management, and increasing global strategic alliances.
Prior to leading the management buyout of MPI, Mr. Shibuya served as President of the firm. He was responsible for the strategic direction and operation of MPI’s real estate businesses globally encompassing transaction advisory/brokerage, corporate finance/capital markets, portfolio/lease administration, research/site selection, economic incentives advisory, project management and facilities management services to corporations/occupiers and government sector clients.
A 31-year industry veteran, Shibuya brings expertise in driving property service firms through expansion. Most recently, he spearheaded the integration of UGL Services and DTZ where he was charged with developing and executing their global property services strategy, taking them from a $1.3 billion North American and Asia-Pacific outsourcing business to a $2 billion global CRE service provider and asset/fund manager. Key initiatives included a $40 million technology infrastructure upgrade and a $50 million synergy cost-out in addition to key talent acquisitions. In this position, Mr. Shibuya was responsible for 47,000 employees and owned operations in 52 countries including 208 branch offices.
Mr. Shibuya has held numerous executive positions at firms across the industry including Cresa, Trammell Crow Company, Insignia/ESG, and Cushman & Wakefield.
With his years of hands-on commercial real estate experience, Mr. Shibuya has led strategy, capital events and execution of global growth. He brings this experience to bear in the expansion of MPI and the firm’s service-line capabilities to address the shifting needs of the company’s growing number of occupier clients seeking integrated real estate solutions around the world.
Eric A. Karl
Chief Financial Officer
Eric Karl joined Mohr Partners, Inc. (MPI) as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) operating in the Dallas office. Eric’s day-to-day responsibilities include managing the accounting and finance group, and providing oversight to maximize the firm’s growth potential and balance sheet performance.
Eric has worked as CFO for private equity and public companies ranging from start-ups to mid-cap companies. Prior to joining MPI, Eric served as CFO at 1A Smart Start LLC for six years, where he led its sale to a private equity firm at a double digit multiple. While there, the company grew revenue from $30 million to $120 million, and departments reporting to Eric contributed more than 50% of the growth in EBITDA in the four years prior to sale.
Eric began his career in 1980 with General Electric (GE) where he completed his management training and worked in Europe and the U.S. In 1990, Eric joined Sumitomo Corporation’s U.S. operation leading a mergers and acquisitions group and completed more than 50 acquisitions. From 1996, he worked for the Applera Corporation, which sequenced the human genome, in business development. From 1998, Eric held five CFO positions with companies ranging from start-up to $250 million in revenue in various industries.
Eric has experience in various high growth companies in technology, medical, healthcare, manufacturing and retail.
Eric Beichler, Managing Principal, for Mohr Partners, Inc. (MPI) has focused on Global Corporate Services (GCS) and portfolio management for Fortune 1000 companies during his tenure with MPI. Eric has served many roles and responsibilities with the firm over the past 23 years. In addition to being an equity Principal, Eric is a member of the Board of Directors established in 2017. His clients, consisting of both national and global in scope, utilize office, industrial, retail and owned facilities. Eric’s experience represents a diverse range of industries, including telecommunications, semiconductor, insurance, manufacturing, healthcare, logistics and service companies. Expert market knowledge, deep negotiating experience and expertise in strategic planning have ensured clients that they are getting the proper attention across their real estate needs from a proven professional. Eric also has extensive experience in land development, acquisition, and disposition.
His day-to-day responsibilities involve GCS, company recruiting management, and business development across the company’s U.S. offices.
Eric began his career with MPI in 1994. In December of 1998, Eric was quickly promoted to Managing Partner and has enjoyed consistent success throughout his tenure. He has also held both operational, recruiting and managerial positions within the firm. He was initially responsible for developing Mohr Partners’ global platform.
Rob Pipkin serves as Managing Principal for Mohr Partners, Inc. (MPI), based in the Dallas office. With over 30 years of experience, Rob is responsible for representing and consulting corporate, national and local clients in all aspects of their real estate needs.
Upon joining MPI in 1998, Rob transitioned to the Corporate Service side of the commercial real estate business. Through these 19 years, he has represented numerous clients on their national and international portfolios.
Rob began his commercial real estate career working on behalf of building owners. In this endeavor, he has represented landlords ranging from the Prudential Realty Group, one of the nation’s leading owner/developers of commercial real estate, to Granite Properties, one of Dallas’ most aggressive entrepreneurial real estate firms, covering millions of square feet of real estate requirements and consummating over 950 lease transactions.
During this tenure, Rob honed his real estate expertise by being involved in every phase of the real estate process including contract negotiation, space planning, construction, administration, and management.
Stephen Hemphill serves as a Managing Principal for Mohr Partners, Inc. (MPI) in the Dallas office. Stephen represents clients in manufacturing, warehousing, distribution (direct and 3PL) and truck terminals. He has added exceptional value to clients during his tenure and is known for his ability to quickly asses the client’s needs and offer imaginative solutions.
Stephen is known throughout the real estate industry for his ability to strategically align the terms and conditions of his client’s real estate needs with the overall corporate goals and objectives of the clients he represents. Stephen and his team have completed over 22 million square feet in transactions.
Stephen co-builds critical infrastructure assessments and analyzes real estate portfolios as they relate to their compatibility with ongoing client operations. During the last 11 years, Stephen has co-built custom real estate programs to exceed clients’ goals and objectives ranging from supplementing a client’s internal real estate department to designing and implementing an entire outsourced corporate real estate solution.
Stephen was recognized for his contribution and willingness to help others by being named Broker of the Year and Mentor of the Year for MPI. Additionally, he has been named numerous times to the “Top Real Estate Brokers” by the Dallas Business Journal by D CEO Magazines’ list of “Power Brokers” in addition to earning the CoStar “Power Broker” designation for his accomplishments and attention to clients’ needs.
