Maya Shaw serves as a GIS analyst for Mohr Partners, Inc. in the Dallas office. Maya is a seasoned GIS professional with over 12 years of experience, with background in demographic and market analysis. Her day-to-day responsibilities include providing all maps and/or demographic reports to assist with real estate decisions, often as a supplement for reports, proposals, and general research. Some examples include, but are not limited to, drive-time analysis, competitive landscape, expiration/consolidation exercises, customer prospecting, demographic or segmentation studies, multi-variable market analyses, heat maps, distribution optimization, and interactive story maps. She also lends her expertise on scorecard/site selection exercises as needed. Maya supports all Mohr Partners offices nationwide.
Prior to joining Mohr Partners, Maya was a Senior GIS Technician with EXCO Resources in the Oil and Gas Industry. She provided high-quality maps of leasehold (including current, expired, and prospect acreage) and other ad hoc mapping requests across many disciplines through diligent use of internal and external datasets. Maya also wrote SQL statements using VBScript for querying and label expressions. In addition, she created web map user guides and provided training as needed.
Prior to her employment at EXCO, Maya worked as a GIS Technician at True Automation, a software company for county appraisal districts. As a GIS Technician, Maya managed 135,000 parcels for several Texas counties, as well as street and subdivision layers. She consistently received one of the highest quality rankings in the department. She also served on the first-ever Map Committee to establish high standards for map layouts to help give all printed maps a professional and unified look. She also trained team members and reviewed maps for quality and accuracy.
Prior to her tenure at True Automation, Maya worked as a GIS Technician for the City of Dallas. Maya recreated archived plats and analyzed water and wastewater pipelines to platform reduction and prorated calculations to highlight outstanding fees due to the city.
